Alright well here we are. I figured i would rewrite this rebuild intro.
Heres the plan: Toyota 4.0L 4 Cam 32v V8 from a 92 Lexus SC400. Has a nice 250hp/260ftlbs. Its an all aluminum block weighing in around 400lbs with accessories. So definitely a lot less weight then any other v8 in its category. A30-41 Aisin 4 Speed automatic, Using a Chain drive transfer case for now All-pro extreme lift Blisteins 5100 series nitrogen shocks New shock hoops up front Maybe BFG MT KM2s 35x12.50xR15 or some other tires I'll be trying to take pictures during this build up. The 1UZ-FE swap is not very common in the US yet. So I'll be figuring out all the wiring myself. I already got a hold of the wiring diagrams i need hopefully. First I'll be doing the engine swap so i will know how the weight distribution is going to be before i install the new springs. Last edited by gennro; 04-30-2009 at 03:17 PM.. |

![]() There are a few of us Yota geeks on Langley that would be glad to help get that straight axle under the front of that thing. Unless you are locking the front axle, I wouldn't put the $ into Longfields. If you are locking the front, then they are a good option. Also if locking the front, look into hydro assist steering.

Thats all in the plan there for a aussie in the front/rear and hydro assist eventually. Plus with running 38's in the front want to have some piece of mind the longfields will offer, or just keep replacing birfields. I have everything i need parts wise to install the whole kit. Just mainly want to finish beefing up the front axle to take the abuse.
The engine is a 22rec and fully rebuilt about 2 years ago. Have a 268/torker camshaft coming in the mail and going to install it this weekend if it comes in the mail tomarrow. Last edited by gennro; 03-06-2008 at 07:42 PM.. |
