Ok so it's not as good as the 4BT but did make decent motor extraction progress today. The transmission is out of the donor and the 4.3L is out with exception of the fuel lines I forgot about since they were totally hidden in the middle of the back of the engine. I'll disconnect those tomorrow and the donor motor is out. Finally!!!

That is all.

UPS dropped and ran.....(I wish they would at least extend the finger to ring the door bell)......

And got a new radiator for the donor motor to stay chilly....

Actually did some stuff to this in the past couple days and Howard came over tonight to get my 454 out of my way and use some of it for mock up on his mud truck. That freed up room in my garage to actually get the Beav started here soonly. The work done was some more high steer arm progress with more to happen tomorrow......

And Alex fired up the table to cut the first set of beadlock rights. I'm pumped about the rings. He did an awesome job taking my thoughts and putting it on metal. I so wish I had his talents with the CAD programs......

And yes he hates cutting my old ass dirty as fawk rusty metal......

But it looks so rad once it's cleaned up.

AND I got some free space now so I'll be bolting the drive line together to start taking some measurements and get hopefully get some free time that coincides with Alex to do some math wizardry and set up link locations, brackets and lengths......

Those rings are awesome... I'm getting flashbacks of the old/good cartoons!
If you need manual labor/extra hand etc... give me a shout.

Managed to wrangle some time out of Alex yesterday and got some more ring work completed.

And I thought this was pretty kick ass that he made for another member so I thought I'd share it. It's a third brake light plate that replaces the spare tire holder on JK if I remember correctly. It's pretty rad in person. Can't wait to see that light up.

Well it's not much but it's progress......

I will have to do all the grinding of the rim and all that still of course but after that it's the other 3 wheels. Then they'll get bead blasted and powder coated some color I haven't decided yet. Like I said, it's progress.

I don't understand why you made the inner out of 6 pieces. Why not just one piece?

That would take a full sheet of steel to make one complete set of rings where we can squeeze two full sets into one full sheet of steel this way. It only takes a little bit longer to setup but it comes out looking great in the end and there's a ton less wasted material.

Finally got some free time with the women folk out of town for a few days at the same time so I installed 5.13 chryo treated gears into my King Pin 60. Also loaded it with a Spartan and all new seals and bearings. I'm in search of a couple knuckle seals now (the little thin turds for around the king pins) and they seem to be hard to source locally. I'm hoping to get the king pins swapped and those seals in hand so I can finish the knuckle install and sling this bad boy under the frame for front end mock up and measurements.

So I was looking at the pics in this thread a bit ago and I decided that the 4.3L just simply isn't a big enough motor to break lots of shit so I got me a 5.3L that we will freshen up and try to get about 400 horses out of. So this 4.3L will probably end up in the YJ. And yes this project is still in progress how ever slow it seems to be.
