I am in dire need of xj leaf spring sleeves in a hurry. 4 of them. Does anyone have some or know where I can get some? I'm checking northern tomorrow morning.

question... Can I press out the old sleeves or melt out the sleeves and they still be intact?

You can press them out. You might need a bad ass press to do so. The old poor mans press (bench vise) probably won't cut it. When you do get them out, clean them up with what ever will take the rough edges and or the corrosion off of them. When you press them into the new spring bushings make sure you lube them liberally. I usually lube the ends (flange part) so that it doesn't bid on my shackles when the bolts are installed. Also, don't over tighten the bolts. I see guys GUN DOWN everything on their jeep. Your jeep's suspension and your butt will be glad you didn't over torque the new springs.

You can melt them out if you like. It will take a while and the smell will be awfull. I would take the springs up the road to an auto shop or garage with a press and have them do it for ya for a few bucks. It will be pretty time consuming burning them out. If you do burn 'em , keep a bucket of water handy (or fire extinguisher).

I ended up getting the sleeves at Hibbard Iron Works and the U-bolts at Northern.
