Double Gasket Oil Outs are bad

A guy at work was doing an oil change on a Chrysler Minivan and did not notice that when he took off the old oil filter that the old gasket was still on the eninge, then put the new filter on. The van made it off the rack and around the building leaving a nice trail of clean texas tea before someone else noticed the oil trail and screamed to turn off the engine.

I did that one time on an Integra. I was in the habit of checking for that but the clearance was really tight on that one so I didn't bother. I caught it before it got off the rack though (but not before dumping about half the oil on the floor :???: ).

damn people . . .heard of people doing that but I am always checking . .plus usually wipe off the filter mounting surface so kinda hard to miss the old ring if stuck on there . . lol
