I gotta figure out how to use this thing...

I was going to go for the 220V Handler 180 machine, but then it dawned on me that I can't use it anywhere, since a 220 outlet doesn't exist anywhere I'd be using it.
Yeah!!!! I'm finally going to get my sliders on!

Anyone around have some scrap tubing and/or plate for me to play with?
TIA

Kyle

Nooooo!! Never pass up 220!! look all around you. You are surrounded by 220v, you just need to be creative in getting it.

If you are anywhere near the circuit breaker, you have unlimited supply. Also, look at the Stove (Yes, even if it's gas) and the Dryer. Both may have 220v. Even with these outlets out of 6ft reach, you can still run a 50ft extention cord. Oh well, you'll be happy with a welder regardless of the power... just ask those without one.

Speaking of scrap steel, anyone have some 3/16" or 1/4" plate laying around... thought I'd ask before tagging Old Dominion Recycling

The welder will support 110 and 220, you just need to hook up a 220 on the welder and then just have 2 plug ins....

In all honestly I like 110 because Im always taking my welder over to peoples houses to do welding for a builds and you never know if they do have 220 or not... Plus if you have a generator handy it will run off of that...

I have some sheets of heavy duty sheet metal if you need

I have quite a few small pieces of scrap laying around... I normally just toss them in the trash about once a month or so... probably 20 lbs worth or more...

I'd be happy to take some off your hands!

Tom(guttersnacks) and I messed with the welder some this weekend. I quickly learned that getting two pieces of metal to stick together is EASY; getting the weld to look decent is not quite as easy.
Practice makes perfect, I'd appreciate any scrap pieces you can spare.
Thanks,
Kyle

I have some stainless 3/8" plate steel... Heavy as a bitch!!!!
I have 1/4" stainless plate steel...
I even have some 1/8" plate steel...
I have very little carbon steel...
Most of this is just sitting around collecting dust... Not sure who would want this stuff but I'll take a count of what I got... and post on a later date.
